Is it my imagination, or has there been a rise in the public awareness of young, good-looking, intelligent black politicians in the media since Barack Obama won the election in November?

Here are two that have been doing the interview circuit recently:

Mayor of Newark, New Jersey Cory Booker - (D)
Alma mater: Stanford, Yale, Oxford Universities

Mayor of Washington. D.C. Adrian Fenty - (D)
Alma mater:Howard University and Oberlin College

Of course, there is the ultimate role-model:

President Elect Barack Hussein Obama
Alma Mater: Occidental College, Columbia University, Harvard Law School

Can there finally be a light at the end of the tunnel regarding negative cultural stereotypes for Black Americans?
