THERE'S MORE TO WEB SURFING THAN INTERNET EXPLORER.....

Have you ever sat in front of your computer or laptop in frustration waiting for Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) to load the page? Are you one of the many internet users who think there is no alternative?

Well, here's the good news: there are alternatives - and they're usually much, MUCH faster than IE!!!!

Here are some of the most popular alternatives used by tech savvy people world-wide:

MOZILLA FIREFOX: This is the second most popular web browser behind IE. Formerly known as Netscape before being acquired by AOL, Mozilla Firefox - or just Firefox as it is better known - is considered to be vastly superior in speed and features when compared against IE. Firefox was the first to introduce tabbed browsing, and offers spell check to persons who use the web for bloggin and data entry. The only downside to this program is that most government websites are not compatible with Firefox so you have to drag out the old and slow IE to access or use their website.

APPLE SAFARI: Yes, you don't have to have an Apple computer or laptop to use their web browser. The interface is similar to iTunes and the graphics are true to the Apple brand. THEY boast that they are lightening-fast, but personally I think it's nothing to get excited over. However it still is another alternative to IE.

GOOGLE CHROME: Not to be left out of the browser wars global search engine dominant Google has entered with their browser called CHROME. It operates on the belief that speed and bare-bones graphics is better and forces their program to focus on performance rather than gimmicks. I think that the sparseness of the look reduces the presentation of similar popular features found in Firefox. However - they do promise faster browsing speeds than IE and that's a selling point to me!

OPERA: Opera is an internet browser built for one thing - speed. When compared against IE, Firefox and others in a third party test held in 2008 Opera out-performed the previous mentioned icons. Opera get's it's speed by using bit-torrent technology; getting all the information of a website not from one server but from numerous servers. (Kinda like filling a pool with 6 pipes rather than one pipe.) The downside of Opera is that - like all others - it is not intergrateble with some websites that rely on global dominant IE for their needs.

So there you have it - a list of some browsing alternates to IE. Why not download one and try it today?
