While flipping thorough the TV channels this morning I came across a program I used to watch religiously - ABC's 'The View'.
Why did I stop watching? Because last year I had reached my tolerance level to stomach watching that self-righteous, loud-mouth, crass Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
I began watching 'The View' because of the diversity of the panel. Sure, I thought that Rosie O'Donnell brought the show to a new level (remember, her own show had won many, many Emmys - a feat that 'The View' has yet to accomplish), but I also had high hopes that Elizabeth would have used the forum to convey a positive image of a young, religious, married woman - bringing a balance to the panel.
Instead, she showed her true colors - voicing bigoted opinions, playing word games to get out of previous statements she made, showing a double standard, shouting in a fanatical state when voicing her opinion. Her ignorance comes across on every show - especially during the beginning banter with the panel - showing how naive and ignorant she is.
I am quite sure if we delved a little deeper into her personal life we would find a woman who is unhappy, busily stuffing a few skeletons of her own into that prejudice closet of hers. People like her are the ones who promote the worst of the human race.
I hope 'The View' will not renew her contract - Elizabeth Hasselbeck is the epitome of 'the ugly American' image that we need to change.
This is a site dedicated to the thoughts, comments, views and opinions of a transplanted Jamaican who - through the love, support and toleration of his family - makes his opinions known. Filters on written content may - or may not - be applied, depending on the side of the bed one gets up from, the impact of dreams the nights before, and so forth. CAUTION: A bizarre mix of Jamaican, British, American and LGBT humor is found throughout this blog.
