THE BEST PART OF YESTERDAY'S INAUGURATION - THE CLOSING PRAYER BY REV. JOSEPH LOWERY

While the controversial Rick Warren's invocation prayer was lackluster to say the least, yesterday's inauguration ceremonies ended on the right note with the closing prayer by Rev Joseph Lowery. Rev Lowery delivered a prayer that was obviously heart-felt, a prayer from the heart that reached across faiths....and even touched the cynical soul of this heathen agnostic.

Rev Lowery is a pioneer of the civil rights movement in the U.S., working with the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr in the '60s, and protesting apartheid in South Africa in the '70s and '80s.

Rev Lowery is also an advocate for GLBT rights and favors same-sex civil unions (although is hesitant on gay marriage).

Below is a video of Rev Lowery's closing prayer.
