GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH

Yesterday's announcement by Alaska's publicity hungry governor Sarah Palin that she was resigning as governor by the end of July sent shock waves throughout the country. All Democrats - and some Republicans - are waking up this morning hung over from celebrating at this unexpected but welcomed development.

Now, speculation runs rife about the reasons Pale-in-comparison resigned from her post. Some are even predicting this announcement comes ahead of a major scandal that's about to break.

Regardless of the reason this latest stunt by the former beauty pageant contestant only underscores her erratic behavior and inexperience of dealing with the national spotlight, and her piss-poor decision-making skills.

Let her leave office to go around and kiss the asses of the right-wing fanatics and nut jobs that support her - I predict she will amount to nothing more than a circus side-show attraction after she leaves office in late July.

Good riddance to very, very, VERY bad white-trash rubbish.

And shut the trailer-door on you way out, will ya?

Did you hear the one about the governor from South Carolina? Huh? Did ya'? Well, did ya'?

***CAUTION: CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE - RATED 'X' BY THE MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION OF THE VOICES IN MY HEAD***

For those of youse in the dark who have been living under a rock or sharing a cave with Bin Ladin let me explain:

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford - who gained notorious national fame for publicly refusing money for his state from President Obama's stimulus package - went AWOL last Thursday (June 19) after a particularly negative session with the legislature of South Carolina.

At first his office said that he took a state vehicle and went off to take time to "clear his mind..."

Then on Friday law enforcement officials tried contacting the governor by cellular phone and text and received no response.

On Saturday June 20 the governor's office issued a statement that there is no reason for concern, but couldn't confirm whether they were in touch with the governor.

On Sunday June 21 the Lt Governor André Bauer finds out the the governor's whereabouts are unknown.

By Monday the shit had hit the fan and inquiries and requests were pouring in to the governor's office demanding that they advise the public of the location of the governor as there were now concerns about the transfer of power should there be a state disaster and life-safety decisions were needed.

By this time the national media had gotten hold of the story like a dog with a bone and the glare of the international media shone on South Carolina line a prison spotlight on an escaping inmate.

On Tuesday the governor's office issues a statement that the governor would be returning to his office on Wednesday and would issue a statement on his disappearance.

Today - Wednesday June 24 - was a frantic day at work for me. With the current heat wave I was inundated will calls from residents about non-working air conditioners, I had to walk eight apartments with an inspector in the middle of Chicago's first heat wave - all while wearing long sleeves and an undershirt.

I barely time to scratch my itchy tuchass or wipe the sweat pouring from my brow much less keep up with the news.

While standing in someone's apartment during the one of the inspections I asked the occupant - who had the TV tuned to CNN - if anything interesting had happened during the day.

"Sure," he said, "that governor in South Carolina? He was having an affair with some girl in Argentina......"

My jaw dropped. Then I began to involuntarily giggle. Minutes later the giggles turned to outright laughter.

I just couldn't stop laughing at the FUCKING HYPOCRISY OF ELECTED REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS!!!

Here is the party that claimed they are morally superior to Democrats while ramming their precious "faith and values" bullshit down our throats for the past 15 years......they are now turning out to be the very party whose senators and governors in the past six months have been caught with their pants down - literally - while operating on a separate...and DISGUSTING set of double-standard values.

And NO, the Democrats are not hypocrites as we do NOT go around telling everyone who they can or cannot screw while clutching a cross to which a blond-haired, blue-eyed Jesus is nailed for personal display. .

Hey Governor Sandford!!!!!!! What happened - did some swishy faggot walk by your house or office and suddenly put your marriage in jeopardy and forced you to cheat on your wife?

ASSHOLE.

This is the same politician that called for the resignation of not only Bill Clinton during the Lewinski scandal, but also called for the resignation of other elected politicians who were caught in illicit affairs such as Senator Ensign (R) of Nevada, former senator Larry Craig (R), former governor Elliot Spitzer (D) of New York - just to name a few.

He is also a politician who ran previous election campaigns on "family values".

HYPOCRITE.

Bottom line: I want to see the END OF THE CURRENT REPUBLICAN PARTY - because this is NOT the party of Abraham Lincoln - this is an abomination of the GOP that is doing more harm than good to the country.

It's become the party of liars, cheats and hypocrites.

What a chump...........*kiss teet*

SHTICK OPERATOR - IL CONGRESSMAN AARON SCHOCK

Blog-sites have been agog recently over the abs and overall physique of the young Republican congressman from the 18th district of Illinois - Representative Aaron Schock.

At 28 years old he is the youngest member of Congress - and also a nice piece of eye candy when compared to his fellow members in the House. He also seems to have the right idea of inclusion of minorities in the GOP could be the future of the party.

However, his appeal is wearing thin quickly as he apparently will say anything to "curry favor" with leaders of the Republican party.

Late this week I had the telly tuned to 'Hardball with Chris Matthews' while packing away groceries, and was absent-mindedly listening as the eternally wired host posed questions to both Rep. Aaron Schock and Rep. Peter King (R) of New York regarding Obama's pick of GOP congressmen to join his cabinet. As I half-listened to the televised patter something Schock said caught me attention, when he stated that "..it comes down to personality and the ability to carry the message forward.....obviously George Bush did a better job than Gore in the 2000 elections...."

Chris Matthews was quick to point out that Bush may have won on a technicality, but Gore handily won the popular vote despite his wooden personality, but Schock continued to regurgitate the same lies that the GOP has been spoon-feeding the public for the past 10 years.

I'm sure that being a "young'un" in politics Schock has a lot to learn but if he continues to operate on fluff and bullshit and not facts I'm not sure I want to be a part of the future he embodies.

(Of course this statement has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that Schock toed the GOP party line and voted against the Matthew Shephard Hate Crimes Act, and does NOT support gay marriage and gays in the military....)

You can watch the entire interview from 'Hardball" here:

THE NEW FACE OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY?

On 'The Rachel Maddow Show' tonight the incomparable Ms Maddow interviewed Meghan McCain, daughter of former presidential candidate Senator John McCain.

Ms McCain claims herself to be a 'progressive Republican', and says that she thinks that is the direction the GOP needs to take if they hope to be successful in the future. She also stated that extremes - either far left OR far right - is NOT the solution.

She is also taking on one of the pariahs of the conservative movement - the evil pundit Ann Coulter (or 'the Coultergiest' as Keith Olberman calls her) - claiming that Coulter is bad for the party and she doesn't understand why this woman is so popular.

(See her article on 'The Daily Beast' here.)

[sic] "I'm not afraid to take her on. You know that saying 'if you're afraid of the heat, get out of the kitchen'? Well, I'm still here..."

I have seen Megan McCain interviewed before during the last presidential campaign and.....I like this girl!

She young, full of spunk, smart, pretty.....hey! Maybe the Republican Party DOES have a chance.

Did I just say what I think I just said?

LAME GOP RESPONSE BOBY JINDAL....same 'ole, same 'ole tired GOP politricks....

The rebuttal to President Obama's speech tonight by the selected GOP representative was flat, lame, and stuck in ideology.

Governor Bobby Jindal (Louisiana -R) delivered a response that was steeped in the tired Republican rhetoric of tax cuts, no-government-is-best mantra and the (alleged) need for fiscal responsibility.

(A lecture on fiscal responsibility from the party that spawned one of the largest expansion of government and federal deficits in recent history? That's rich....)

He even fell back and used the Republican standby of the 21st century: 9/11 and why we should be terrified of the rest of the world.

He even tried to pawn off the poor response of the Federal government to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 as an excuse to ban government.

TRYING TO BLAME THE PERFORMANCE OF AN ADMINISTRATION UNDER REPUBLICAN CONTROL ON THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION?!

And from who they say is the rising star of the Republican Party?

Ya know, it suddenly occurred to me last night, that Republicans like Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele and so-called conservative Michelle Bernard are trying to be something they're not; I really, REALLY think that they are white-people-wannabes!

They...are....just......trying.....too......hard to emulate something they are not.

And in the process they have lost their identity and what COULD have attracted minorities to the GOP.

In conclusion I must admit that the GOP is really a party that does NOT disappoint - they lived up to their expectations of being the out-of-touch, partisan and divisive party that we KNOW they are.

GIVE IT UP - JOHN McCAIN - YOU LOST!!!!

For crying out LOUD.......

John McCain is back to his 'doddering old grandpa' role in the senate, attacking the current Economic Stimulus Bill.

In a clip seen on TV
today he's criticizing the bill saying [sic] "This is not a bi-partisan bill; I've worked on many bi- partisan bills and this is not one of them...!"

Um, Johnny-baby....the election's over MONTHS ago...GIVE IT UP!!!!

The reasons it's not bi-partisan is because THE GOP IS C-BLOCKING NEEDED CHANGE because of failed Rethuglican policies!!!!!

Sheesh.......

GOP VICE-PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE PALIN COMES WITH A LOT OF BAGGAGE

Although selecting Alaska governor Sarah Palin as the vice-president candidate for the Republican party's presidential ticket is seen by some as a savvy move, she comes to the table with a lot of baggage:

1. She has nil foreign experience - she only obtained her US passport in 2007 so she could visit the Alaskan National Guard deployed in Iraq.

2. She has limited experience in political office - only serving a brief stint as mayor for a town of approximately 9,000 before her 18 month stint as governor of Alaska
, which with just over 680 thousand residents is ranked 47th of all states with regards to populous.

(
Some may say Obama also little or no experience but at least he was selected through due process and not as a strategic political move.)

3. Although (legally) vetted by the McSame campaign, she has not been vetted by the harshest of critics - the press corp and the public. Already, they are out in full force gathering information in this candidate and we KNOW they will dig up something.

4. She recently announced that her unmarried 17 year-old daughter is 5 months pregnant for a 18 year-old high-school hockey player. Great family values promotion there.

5. Palin is under investigation for abuse of powers for attempting to have her ex-brother-in-law fired to settle a personal family score.

6. There are reports she left the town she mayored(?) in debt over frivolous pork-barrel projects that failed to benefit the community she administered.

These and other issues are coming to light less than one week after the VP announcement, and the jury is still out whether they will help of hinder the GOP presidential ticket.

To quote gay icon Betty Davis, "Hang on boys, it's going to be a BUMPY ride! "

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THE GOP PRESIDENTIAL TICKET?

I don't even know how - or where - to start. I'm not sure if my opinion is emotionally based; I could be subconsciously seething in rage at McSame for stealing the thunder away from the brilliant speech given by DNC presidential candidate Barack Obama (which I watched with other fellow Democrats at a viewing party organized by MoveOn.org).

This was to be Obama's moment, McSame, and you orchestrated an attention-grabbing political move.
Your selection actually re-energized the conservative base of your party, put your campaign back in the public lime-light, evened your ratings compared against Obama's in the polls. In the hours after the announcement of Alaska governor Sarah Palin as your VP running mate your campaign raised US$4 million in one day. You gave hope to those fanatical pro-choice, gun-toting right-wing evangelicals. You reminded people not to take you for granted: you were at the bottom of the GOP list of presidential hopefuls at the start of this campaign eight months ago, and you proved all naysayers wrong by clinching your party's nomination.

How dare you! This is our (the DNC) election!
We, the Democrats, had this thing in the bag!

Sure, we have been squabbling amongst ourselves between supporting Obama and/or Clinton, but that won't weaken our chances - will it?

I mean, we took the American voting public for granted assuming that they will automatically vote 'Democrat' to get rid of 'Dubya' cause they wouldn't keep the Republicans in power - would they?

Stop showing authority by calling the shots at the GOP convention in Minnesota!

Stop demonstrating sensible choices by demanding the toning down of the GOP convention to show consideration to those affected by Hurricane Gustav!

Do you honestly think we will be glued to the television during the telecast speeches of Ms. Palin and yourself to evaluate the GOP ticket?

We are to win this gubernational election!

I demand that you cease and desist your claim to the presidency!
