According to a report in today's Jamaica Observer newspaper SuperClubs hotel pioneer John Issa has been served with a lawsuit by Sandals Group hotelier Gordon 'Butch for defamation of character. The suit claims that Mr. Issa distributed a number of emails under the pseudonym of a 'Dr. Paulette Robinson' that were deemed a assault on Mr. Stewart's character - although the content or subject of the email were not disclosed. (see full story here.)
This latest revelation is reported to be the subject of much debate in the international travel media.
This latest development is yet another in a long series of allegations over the past 15 years and can be likened to a family feud - the family being the Jamaican tourism industry. The rivalry and bickering between both parties is not new and has been going on for some time. According to this blogger's memory rumor has it that the shared animosity between both men stems from an alleged poker game that ended badly between them in the early 90's. Prior to this event both were friendly towards each other.
It is sad to see the two persons credited with bringing the Jamaican tourist industry to new heights with their innovative approach to the all-inclusive concept battling against each other.
Now that gambling is legal in Jamaica maybe an offically sanctioned 'winner-take-all' game might be a final solution to this ongoing issue?

This is a site dedicated to the thoughts, comments, views and opinions of a transplanted Jamaican who - through the love, support and toleration of his family - makes his opinions known. Filters on written content may - or may not - be applied, depending on the side of the bed one gets up from, the impact of dreams the nights before, and so forth. CAUTION: A bizarre mix of Jamaican, British, American and LGBT humor is found throughout this blog.
