ABUSE OF....EGOS?

In case you just woke up from a coma, or were living in a cave in a remote part of the world - the below is a quick synopsis of the Gates arrest that sparked heated debates about race relations in this country:

Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates
was arrested at his home last week by members of the Cambridge police force.

Why?

For breaking into his own home.

Yup.

The story goes like this: Gates had just returned from China to his Cambridge home and discovered his front door jammed.

He opened his back door with his key and tried unsuccessfully from inside his home to open the front door. Eventually, Gates and his driver forced the door open from the outside. The professor was inside for several minutes when a police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, appeared at his steps and asked him to step outside. (The police had been called by a suspicious white neighbor who saw two black men doing something (?) outside a home in her neighborhood.)

This is point that is fueling heated debates: what exactly was the exchange between both parties that led to the arrest of a noted Harvard professor - in his own home - on the charges of disorderly conduct? (For a full report of the story click here.)

Regardless of who said what - methinks that although both Professor Gates and Officer Crowley were caught up in a competition of who's ego was bigger and better, most of the blame rests on Officer Crowley. I think he arrested the professor just to teach him the lesson of who was "bigger" than the other with regards to power.

So to me, this is not a question of race, but a question of over-sized male egos wallowing in personal self-importance issues.

And this this battle is even older and more violent that the battle of the sexes...or even the battle between races.

Men will be men. And most of the time - just plain old egotistical ASSHOLES with super-fragile egos.

HEARD ON THE STREET

Everyone’s all old and settled down and doesn’t do coke anymore.

They were frolicking in their own juices.

Look at his face. How could he possibly know what’s going on?

You just doubled your pee mileage.

We forgot to steal my mom’s Vicodin.

So you consider yourself a twink?

Bicycles are so peasant.

I’m not ignoring you, I’m just walking away while you’re talking.

Wait, did you just call me a midget dyke?

Oh, no. My grandmother is on Facebook.

Don’t do that goofy grin you do when you drink.

I’ve seen where her hands have been. I’m not touching her.

That tasted like God jizzed in my mouth.

I’m trying to get my freak on Friday.

It’s such a terrible trait, but he keeps seeing the good in people.

I don’t want to get laid tonight. I don’t want to fall asleep crying.

I don’t have a gag reflex, and I still couldn’t fit it all in my mouth.

I just want to punch him in his asexual face.

You’re always doing someone a favor when you make them go down on you.

PAUL KRUGMAN WAS REALLY ON HIS GAME TODAY!!!!

This morning as I watched my usual Sunday fare 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' and listened to the points being made by this morning's panel - Donna Brazille, George Will, Adrianna Huffinton, David Brooks, and Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman - it was apparent that Paul Krugman had eaten all his Wheaties that morning!

I happen to admire Paul Krugman a lot; I think is insights ARE passionately but thoughtfully derived and sense that he firmly believes in the basic good of humankind, but sometimes when he appears on talk shows it seems to me that in his spirit of allowing other to airs their views he allows his vision get lost in the loud cacophony of the naysayers.

NOT TODAY!!! Paul was on FIRE this morning in defending his views and managed to be on par and even SILENCE his visionary nemesis George Will (in my mind at least), especially on the issue of whether President Obama is over-exposed or that his health care plan is sketchy, or even on the president's comment on the Gates arrest issue - Paul was succinct, to the point and always got the last word in on the subject being discussed.

So, to my pal Paul Krugman I have only one thing to say: you go boy!!!!!!! I'll have your back any day!!!!

HOW BEAUTY CAN BE UGLY....

In a fit of insanity - tonight, after President Obama's speech to the nation on health care, I decided to check out what the morons on Faux Noise were saying. Just my luck - uber asshole Sean Hannity was on with his alleged 'Great American' panel.

I must say I was surprised to see former NFL hottie Jason Sehorn on the panel, and wondered what he was doing there.

After five minutes it was apparent - he was part of the far-right brainwashed Republican fanatics spouting un-substantiated discussion points and bashing ANYTHING positive that has happened since Obama's inauguration. I'm surprised he didn't slip and use the 'N' word in his talking points!

Suddenly, beauty turned to ugly. I don't care how hot a body you have, or how perfect your face may be - beauty really, really, REALLY comes from inside.....

MY LATEST ADDICTION: That '70s Show

Recently, I've started a habit that helps me to fall asleep.

No, no, no, no, NO - not that (pervs) - I watch 'That '70s Show' on The N until I fall asleep. Yah know - I never appreciated the show during it's original run, but watching back-to-back episodes makes you appreciate the characters and nuances. It's well written, smart, and focuses on the story and not necessarily on stuff that happened in the 1970s.

Great to watch - check you local listing for broadcast times!!!

A-HOLE OF THE MONTH - Sen. John McCain

Sorry Meagan, I love you to death but your father has been acting like a real JACKASS recently.

Firstly, for someone who was himself tortured - he is steadfastly sticking to GOP party politics and rather than acknowledge that whoever authorized water-boarding during the Bush administration should be held accountable for the betterment of that black time in American history and to restore the credibility of the U.S. on the world stage - he's instead chosen to spout a "forgive and forget, what's done is done" attitude.

Sure.

I "betcha" he wouldn't be singing the same tune if he saw any chance of persecuting the people who tortured him for five years in Vietnam, now, would he......?

Then there's the entire Caribou-Barbie debacle.

I will always - ALWAYS - hold him accountable for unleashing that Alaskan she-beast on this country. During his interview this morning with the overly-eager 'Meet the Press' host David Gregory, McSame could have dodged commenting on Pale-in-Comparison's recent antics and remained neutral. Instead, he spouted the usual 'she's more than capable to run the country' bullshit even though he knows that he made a SEVERE bad call in judgement when he selected her as his running-mate last year.

But - to cover his ass - he'll defend his selection because to him anything short of support for her will confirm his error in judgement to his detractors. I don't know who he thinks he's fooling 'cause we all know he was trying to get the Hillary supporters with his Palin selection and that strategy back-fired- spectacularly - in his face.

Sen McCain, if you really were the so-called 'maverick' you were heralded to be - you could have really examined the reasons you failed so miserably last election, and use those issues to pull your party together - but you decided to act out the role of 'sore loser' and criticize everything THE WINNER is trying to accomplish while licking your wounds....

Soooo, to doddering Grandpa John McCain I am awarding him July's 'Asshole of the Month' prize - because you really, really, REALLY deserve that recognition.

Dumbass.........
